Kimberley Quest 2 Just Got a Major Volvo Upgrade

Kimberley Quest 2 is preparing for an exciting new chapter, with a major Volvo engine upgrade helping set the vessel up for the 2026 Kimberley cruise season.

For those who know the Kimberley, it is a destination that leaves a lasting impression. Towering waterfalls, dramatic storm activity, remote coastlines, and a sense of raw natural beauty make it one of the most unforgettable cruising regions in Australia. Kimberley Quest 2 has long offered guests a unique way to experience it all, and now, with new Volvo engines on board, the vessel is ready to continue that journey with even smoother, quieter, and more efficient performance.

Luke Chrisen, Director of Pinnacle Travel Group, says the appeal of Kimberley Quest 2 lies not only in the destination itself, but in the style of experience the vessel offers.

At 24 metres in length and carrying a maximum of just 18 guests, Kimberley Quest 2 delivers a boutique cruising experience through the remote north of Western Australia. With itineraries ranging from 4 days right up to 21 days, guests can immerse themselves in the spectacular landscapes and waterways of the Kimberley in a far more personal and intimate setting than larger ships can provide.

One of the biggest highlights of the longer trips is the water. During the wet season and beyond, the Kimberley comes alive with rainfall, feeding countless waterfalls throughout the region. According to Luke, they are nothing short of magnificent. Combined with the lightning shows and storms that regularly roll through the area, it creates a visual experience that is difficult to match anywhere else.

Kimberley Quest 2’s smaller size is also a major advantage. Unlike larger cruise vessels, it can get right up close to many of the waterfalls, allowing guests to experience them in a way that feels immediate and unforgettable. In some cases, the bow of the vessel can be positioned directly beneath the falling water, giving guests the rare chance to step out and quite literally get their hair wet.
