CPG Supports Fremantle Sea Rescue’s Next Generation Rescue Vessel

Fremantle Sea Rescue has officially welcomed a new 12 metre rescue vessel, purpose built to deliver greater capability, reliability, and performance when it matters most.

Built by Cordaine Marine, the custom aluminium catamaran has been designed to replace the current R100 and support rescue operations well into the future. Constructed to 2B survey classification, the vessel is built to operate in rougher weather conditions, giving the crew greater confidence and flexibility when responding to incidents offshore.

For Marine Rescue Fremantle, the new vessel represents a major step forward. With increased size and capability, it allows the team to reach locations faster, carry more people, tow larger vessels, and perform rescues more effectively. It is an investment not just in a new boat, but in the organisation’s ability to serve the community for the next 15 years and beyond.

CPG was proud to support the project with the Volvo Penta IPS package, selected for its efficiency, performance, and suitability for a vessel of this size. The system also offered practical advantages during the build, including a compact engine room footprint, streamlined installation, and the benefit of detailed technical documentation.

Reliability was a critical requirement from day one. Rescue crews operate in conditions where there can be no compromise, and dependable systems are essential to every mission. Throughout the install, the Cordaine Marine team worked closely with CPG, with responsive support helping keep the project moving and ensuring confidence at every stage.

The result is a highly capable, future ready rescue vessel that reflects the quality and commitment of everyone involved. After more than two years of work, seeing the boat launched and performing strongly on the water is a significant achievement for Cordaine Marine, Marine Rescue Fremantle, and CPG alike.
